Neighbors to discuss Storm Bridge on the "Inside the Southern University System" radio show

Dr. Ira Neighbors, Associate Professor of Social Work and Director of the Bachelor of Social Work program, will discuss the School of Social Work's "Storm Bridge II" project. The interview will be on Sunday, August 29th at 6:00 p.m. (CST) on WEMX-FM in Baton Rouge. The interview will be conducted as a part of the show's feature on SUNO, five years after Katrina.

 

The interview will stream live on www.max94one.com. "Inside the Southern University System" is a weekly show hosted by Katara Williams, the System's Director of Media Relations, along with Robyn Merrick, the System's Director of Alumni Affairs.

 

The project is an initiative designed to unite communities throughout the New Orleans metropolitan area by focusing on conflict resolution, social justice and productive dialogue. Messrs. Harry Russell, Edgar Blanchard, Claude Montegut, and Dr. Patricia Guillary also participate in the project.

 

Mancoske named Best Reviewer

Mancoske

Dr. Ronald Mancoske, Professor of Social Work, has been chosen as a Best Reviewer for 2010 for the Journal of Social Work Education, which is published by the Council on Social Work Education. Mancoske is one of 127 JSWE reviewers to be recognized. The criteria for choosing the Best Reviewers include exceptional service in responsiveness to requests for review, timeliness in submitting completed reviews, and quality of written reviews.

 

The two JSWE Best Reviewer Award winners will be honored at the Council on Social Work Education 2010 Annual Program Meeting in Portland, Oregonon October 16, 2010.
