Southern University at New Orleans athletics has enjoyed a long tradition of excellence since its birth in 1973.

SUNO Knights and Lady Knights have shown consistent success on the playing field with 7 national championships to their credit, more than any other NAIA and most NCAA institutions in the state of Louisiana.
